I have today, received a statement from Kimberley-Clark regarding their response to the coronavirus situation. Kimberley-Clark has an operation in Flint which produces Huggies Baby Wipe and WypAll Hand Towels. Nationally they manufacture Andrew toilet tissue and Kleenex facial tissues.
Simon Ashwell, Governement Relations Director says:
"We want to reassure people that Kimberly Clark is accelerating production of Andrex, Huggies and Kleenex products at its UK mills, and just as importantly, the number of delivery trucks to retailers to ensure there is a steady supply of our products.
As we’ve all seen, demand has increased, but we are all working to replenish shelves as quickly as possible. We remain close with our retail partners and ask customers to shop responsibly. There is enough for everyone if we think of others and buy only what we need.
As part of our efforts to support some of the most vulnerable within our society, we are donating our products to our charity partner, In Kind Direct, and other local charities around the UK, over the coming week.
Kimberly-Clark is closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak. We are experiencing an increased spike of un-forecasted volume and orders across all markets for our products. We are accelerating production and reallocating inventory where possible to help meet this need to prioritize our existing customers’ needs and expectations and to service increased demand.
We are continuing to monitor conditions and are committed to providing our full support to address this health crisis where possible."
I would like to re-emphasise Simon's point that there is enough for everyone if we think of others and buy only what we need.
I'm certain you will join me in thanking the staff of Kimberley-Clark for their hard work during this very challenging time.
