Rob Roberts the Delyn MP and eleven of his Welsh Conservative colleagues have jointly signed a letter calling on the First Minister to explain his approach on the upcoming lockdown measures coming into force in Wales.
The letter signed today by Conservative MPs from across Wales recognises the unenviable position of the First Minister, and his Health Minister Vaughan Gething. However, it calls again for Mr Drakeford to outline the reasons why he has taken a disproportionate blanket approach in Wales rather than a reasoned and regional approach based on regional infection rates.
It points out that several requests have been issued by Welsh Conservative MPs and Welsh Conservative Members of the Senedd and they are yet to receive a full and substantive response.
The MPs also pointed out the sheer depth of feeling of their constituents. Many of them have been contacted by angry and frustrated families and business owners who also feel the measures are unfair and disproportionate. They feel the Welsh Government’s blanket approach will have a devastating effect on their communities, causing societal and economic harm.
