Member of Parliament for Delyn, Rob Roberts and the Welsh Government Deputy Minister for Climate Change, Lee Waters MS met on Monday 28th March to discuss the plans for the proposed Greenfield station.
During the meeting the two politicians discussed the current progress of the project and the new North Wales Transport Commission.
Mr Roberts highlighted the need for the new station in Greenfield, one of the most deprived areas of his constituency. He explained to the Minister the positive impact it will have on local residents lives and the local economy.
Commenting on the meeting, Mr Roberts said:
“I welcome the meeting with Deputy Minister Waters. As I have said before, a new station in Greenfield will have a huge positive impact on local residents and businesses.
“We are currently waiting for the full findings of the “WelTAG Stage 1” report, and the project will now be reviewed and prioritised under the North Wales Transport Commission recently set up by Welsh Government. I will happily work with UK Department for Transport, the Welsh Government and the North Wales Transport Commission to ensure that this project continues at pace.
“I hope the willingness to work together on this and other transport related projects continues for the benefit of our community.”
