Member of Parliament for Delyn, Rob Roberts, is encouraging local people to take part in this year’s UK Parliament Week – an annual festival that aims to empower people of all ages to get involved with UK Parliament and the issues they care about.
UK Parliament is an annual weeklong festival, held on 1 – 7 November, which engages people from Delyn and across the UK with the work of UK Parliament and the issues they care about, and empowers them to get involved.
Despite the impacts of Covid-19, last year saw almost 1 million people take part from every nation and region of the UK. As restrictions ease, Rob hopes that this year even more local people can take part and find out more about the work of UK Parliament.
Typically, UK Parliament Week will see a weeklong programme of events and activities take place organised by UK Parliament in collaboration with local organisations such as charities, schools, and community groups. Groups can sign up online and once registered, will receive a free kit with tips and resources to help plan their activity.
Commenting, Rob said:
“I am so pleased that this year’s UK Parliament Week can go ahead and that local people from Delyn will be able to take part and learn more about the work of UK Parliament.
“Politics and the work of the UK Parliament impacts nearly every aspect of all of our lives so it’s important to get involved and understand how we can all make a difference.
"Some of our local Scouts and Brownie Groups have already signed up so I would encourage as many community groups as possible to sign up and explore how they can work with UK Parliament to bring about change on local issues.”
