Member of Parliament for Delyn, Rob Roberts, welcomes BT’s Stand Out Skills campaign that aims to provide advice, tips and vital information for jobseekers in order to help them stand out.
Stand Out Skills is providing unmissable daily support to jobseekers for 28 days from 19th January 2021. BT Stand Out Skills includes advice and tools to help jobseekers with every stage of their search, whether that be through building confidence and discovering their potential, writing job applications, providing interview advice, or even how to stay resilient through their job search.
Considering the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the jobs market across the UK, and with Wales in particular suffering from unemployment levels rising above the UK national average, it is vital that jobseekers in Delyn and in the wider area of North Wales are both encouraged and supported throughout their job search.
In addition to this campaign, BT is offering a weekly series of practical, interactive webinars to help jobseekers get work ready at home so that when the right opportunity comes along, they are ready. Work Ready is part of BT Skills for Tomorrow which is helping 10 million people develop the skills they need to make the most of life in a digital world.
Commenting on the launch of BT’s new campaign Rob said:
“I am glad to see the launch of this campaign which will help many of my constituents in Delyn. The last number of months will have knocked the confidence of many jobseekers, whether they are individuals who have recently found themselves unemployed or alternatively those struggling to start their first career, so it is vital support is readily available and accessible.
Campaigns like Stand Out Skills, build on UK Government initiatives like Kickstart, and will help to rebuild confidence and ensure that jobseekers are fully equipped with the essential skills that they need to stand out and be successful.”
