Member of Parliament for Delyn, Rob Roberts met with the 1st Carmel Guides virtually as part of UK Parliament Week 2022 (UKPW).
UK Parliament Week is an annual event organised by the Education Centre within Parliament, its aim is to spread the word about what Parliament is, what it does and how you can get involved. Last year over 1.1 million people took part in the event across the whole of the UK and across the world.
Commenting after meeting the guides, Rob said:
"I was super pleased to be invited to talk to the Carmel Guides. It is so important that young people feel educated and engaged with how parliament works, who their representative is, and how they can get involved.
"Here in the UK we live in a democracy, and our young are the future of our country. They should feel confident about expressing their views and taking action to make their community a better place.
"The 1st Carmel Guides were a very charming group of young ladies and they were a credit to the their families, their group leader, and the Girlguiding mission. It was a pleasure to be apart of their meeting and answer their questions"
