MP for Delyn, Rob Roberts, welcomes today’s launch of The Business Banking Resolution Service (BBRS) which is aimed at supporting small businesses. A free and independent service to help them resolve disputes with their banks.
The service, which has been in the pipeline for two years has been set up on a voluntary basis by small business groups and banks working together. It will work to settle unresolved complaints from customers of the financial institutions who have signed up. It is hoped that more banks will join the scheme, but so far the banks signed up are:
- Barclays Bank PLC
- Barclays Bank UK PLC
- Danske Bank
- HSBC UK Bank PLC
- Lloyds Banking Group
- NatWest Group
- Santander UK PLC
- Virgin Money
Commenting on the new service, Rob has said:
“I think that it is great that there is now more support for our small businesses in Delyn, should they have an unresolved complaint with their bank.
“The last year businesses have been hit hard by this pandemic and there are sure to be complaints between banks and their business customers. It is only right that there is a service they can access should the resolution be in dispute. This service now removes the burden of cost which will be a great relief during what is probably the most difficult time they have experienced.”
Rob urges any small business who has a disputed complaint with their bank to access the service. For more information about the service or to access its help go to www.thebbrs.org
