Today I asked a Question to the Minister for Regional Growth and Local Government about the potential benefits of a freeport in North Wales.
As I mention in the video above, a freeport in North Wales would be massively beneficial to the whole region, particularly if it spreads the entire length of North Wales to take into its borders the Port at Holyhead as well as the manufacturing and industrial centres of Delyn, Deeside and Wrexham.
The UK Government is committed to establishing a freeport in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and is working with the devolved administrations to achieve this.
As the Minister said, freeports act as hubs for trade, innovation and commerce, and would bring together businesses, local authorities and communities to boost prosperity.
