Following concerns from constituents who have written to him, Rob Roberts MP is seeking re-assurance from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board that deaths won’t be misrepresented again following the report at the weekend that 84 deaths went unreported.
Rob and his North Wales colleagues are in regular contact with the health board and have been following the enormous efforts to prepare for this crisis closely.
Rob says:
“These are extremely challenging times for everyone, and we should be focussing on solutions to tackle this public health crisis.
“The NHS staff are doing an immense job and I can’t thank them enough for that, but I would be derelict in my duty if I did not make enquiries on behalf of constituents who have written to me to express their shock and disappointment at the news of the deaths being mis-reported. It is right that the reporting of these figures is investigated but we should wait for those reports before reaching any conclusions.
“Hopefully the Interim Chief Executive can pinpoint the problems swiftly and take the necessary measures to ensure that nothing similar happens in the future so that local residents can have confidence in the information they are receiving and we can all get on with the important tasks of getting through this challenging period.”
